Charlotte Rescue Mission
The Charlotte Rescue Mission is a Christian recovery program that provides an intensive drug and alcohol recovery program to homeless or about to become homeless men and women. Their goal is to address the spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, social, and vocational issues of addiction with each person and return them as contributing members of society.
Our church has been blessed with the opportunity to magnify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by serving dinner on the third Saturday of each month to these men who are working to get their life back on track. Every month we help the kitchen staff to set up the meals and serve the men. We supply the dinner as well on an every other month basis. When we do this, we ask for as many volunteers as possible to supply one portion of the meal, which can include ham and/or roast pork and turkey, casseroles and salads. We appreciate it if those people can also help us serve. If that is not possible we can arrange to have your contribution picked up and delivered to the mission.
We have had discussions with the staff at CRM to see what other ways there are for us to serve these men. One of the possibilities discussed include tutoring individuals on a weekly basis. As we get more information on this, we will pass it along.
